ABOUT AASCIPSW

Misson
AASCIPSW is organized and operated for scientific and educational purposes to:

  • Advance, foster, encourage, promote and improve psychosocial care of persons with SCI.
  • Develop, advance and improve education and research related to the psychosocial care of persons with SCI.
  • Promote the exchange of ideas in clinical practice and investigative endeavors.
  • Recognize psychologists and social workers as health care professionals devoted to treating the problems of SCI.

Goals
The goals of the AASCIPSW are to:

  • Maintain and increase membership in AASCIPSW.
  • Establish standards of care for psychologists and social workers working in the field of SCI.
  • Sponsor a Research Grant program.
  • Publish educational materials for professionals and persons with SCI.
  • Publish a quarterly journal, the SCI Psychosocial Process.
  • Convene an annual conference.
  • Recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in the field of SCI.
